Which genealogy software?

Can anyone give recommendations or testimonials to different family tree/genealogy software? More specifically Family Tree Maker, Legacy, or RootsMagic. Thanks!
When I look into Family Tree Maker everything I see says that it works best with purchasing membership to Ancestory.com, but I can get free access to that from the library.

I use Family Tree Maker 2008 (waiting for 2009 in the mail). I really like it, but I also cant wait for 2009. For example, on Ancestry.com you can choose to merge hints or ignore them, you cant ignore them in 2008, but supposedly you will be able to in 2009. I have looked into Legacy, and one of the major reasons I would like to try that is the printable charts you can make. Thats not really important to some people.

Edit: Favorite part about FTM is the mapping feature. Shows you where the different places your ancestors lived using Google Earth. Bad part is when the places don’t exist anymore and Google Earth doesn’t know what your talking about. Would love it better if you could track a family’s movement with it. (i.e. little arrows going from point a -> b -> c)
