How do you go about making a family tree if you dont know much about your family history?
I dont have that much living family and the ones that I have dont remember that much due to being old..
In addition to talking to relatives (and don’t take everything they say as “gospel” –memories can be wrong) you need to start gathering information from birth certificates, marriage certificates, cemetery records, baptism information, scrapbooks, photo albums, wills, high school yearbooks, diaries, etc. etc.
Once you have exhausted home resources, you can then turn to external agencies, such as city, county or state records, census info, military records, etc. etc.
